Why Does It Matter?

Why does it matter?

Coming from a heterosexual family and having heterosexual friends my whole life, I have never really understood homosexuals, bisexuals, and asexuals. First let me go over the definitions of the words I just mentioned. Heterosexual is the liking of the opposite sex so it is male and female. Homosexual is the liking of the same sex, for example male liking male or female liking female. Bisexual is the liking of both sexes, for males, they would like males and females, for females it would be the liking of males and females. Finally the last form of sexuality is asexual which is not like either sex. Asexual is the hardest form of sexuality for me to comprehend. It is the hardest to comprehend because why would someone not like either sex that just blows my mind because that means they will have a lonely life. But lets now change it to the big heat nowadays which is  homosexuals, go back 40 years and it was very frowned upon at the time. But flash forward 40 years till now it is a lot more acceptable to be gay. You see it everyday here on campus, you see gays interacting with everyone and it is not as big of a deal at colleges. But in the workforce some companies don’t allow gays to work or if they find out they will fire them. I believe that firing people because of their orientation is horrible. What they do in their personal lives shouldn’t effect what they do in work. Why is it such a big deal that people like the same sex. If it is what they want then that’s what they should do. people are supposed to be happy so if it is what makes them happy so be it.
