What Does Love Have to Do With It?

Rape:

The word rape it tossed around a lot lately, but why? Rape is when an unlawful compelling of a person through physical force or through sexual intercourse. The meaning behind rape is still very confusing to some people. Many believe women are the main cause of rape, rape is done but unknown people. These are both myths about rape; a close person in a women’s life that they trust usually does rape. Because rape is mostly done by people who know either other, women are unsure when it is really happening or what to do at that point. Currently a study shows that 1 in 3 American women will be sexually assaulted at some point during her life. This number is very concerning to me because I am a girl and would not be able to get a grown man off me if this started to happen.

According to a website that I recently looked at 80-90% of rape are not reported. Why is that? Are people to scared to tell on their “friend” or do they not know where to go to tell. Most of the victims are between the ages of 16 to 24 women. And the man doing the rape is usually between the ages of 25-44 years old. What I don’t understand is why is rape still so popular. Like the image says above, if you would talk to your daughter about safety, talk to your son about consent. Many rapes occur because of a miscommunication between the man and women. This issue starts with your parenting skills when your children are young. When they are at a young age you should teach them the wrong about rape and how to avoid coming into contact with it. It the parenting skills increase maybe the number of rapes will decrease.
