Misunderstood and Underestimated
Rape
is a subject that at times is misunderstood and complex. Most believe that rape
can be caused by what someone is wearing or how they are acting and that
because of those two aspects it is what causes rape to happen. However the real
situation is that people underestimate the situation and then put doubts into
the victims head. Anyone ever in the situation should never believe it was
their fault, it is never their fault. No matter how it happened, at times it is
not because of physical control but it can be mental control over someone. The
victim also should not be embarrassed and hide what happened, which at this
time rape is no easy thing to discuss, for most it is embarrassing and is
depressing for the victim to realize.
Rape can be inflicted by someone who is trusted by the
victim, sometimes it is those who we do trust that have a mental control over
the victim and are able to easily persuade what they want even though the
victim is trying to repel it. Rape is a non-consensual sexual intercourse with
another person. It is criminal and the victim deserves to not be afraid or embarrassed
of what happened to them, they should be able to find justice and as much
closure as possible since they will have their own battles in the recovery
process once they truly realize what has happened. It is unfair and cruel yet there
are not many outlets for rape victims, it is a serious offence and incredibly
personal, a feeling of being alone and frightened that can only be overcome with
time.
