The rich that have the money in the nation are focused on how to keep their wealth and how to maintain the constant income of money without losing influence in the country. Money and power can be seen at every turn of the nation but more importantly in the way that the education system is set up. I am a college student with a single mom who has two other children to put through school besides myself. We struggle to gain scholarships and grants to help take the costs of loans down, and also have to fight the upper class with money to get into the good schools as well. When applying for school the thought of applying for Harvard or Princeton were considered to be dreams of mine even though I had a 30 on my ACT and a 3.8 gpa when I graduated. However if I had been part of the wealthy elite I could have had no worries of getting into a school of my choice, no matter how prestigious they are. The power that the wealthy have is everlasting because of the fact that they can afford the top paying schools and further their power and wealth by having a topic school on their resume and allow for the top jobs in the country. Wealth is power because you can buy your way through the top of society and further your impact on the lower class that has to suffer to put through one child through school and almost go broke when it comes to more than one child. The lower classes just look at the power and influence of the wealthy the only choice we have is to change the system and make power less focused on money but rather on intelligence and will to do good. http://collegestats.org/2012/07/where-the-1-send-their-kids-to-college/

Paying your way to power
The social
class in the United States is one that can only be described as the achievement
of power by the upper class at the expense of the lower and middle class. The
struggles that the lower classes are faced with on a daily basis range from
looking for jobs to looking for ways to survive against the rule of the upper
class. According to what was covered in class, the majority of wealth
accumulated by the United States is put into the hands up the upper class and
the upper one percent of the nation. People
who study wealth and the power behind the richest people in the world is the education
and the history of their family. The wealth of the upper class is either passed
down through old wealth which at that point is very hard to get rid of and can only
grow with time as the power that goes along with wealth increases, and the other
way to get money for the rich is to be part of the “working rich” category and
earn your money like Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg. Both of these gentlemen
worked hard and created something in order to make their money. The top 400 richest people range from incomes as low as 1.3 billion to the richest at 72 billion according to forbes.Either way of
making money though comes with great power that leaves the poor spinning their wheels
to try and catch up in the money difference and take control of their lives that
the rich are controlling and giving direction of how to live. http://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/#page:1_sort:0_direction:asc_search:_filter:All%20industries_filter:All%20states_filter:All%20categories
