For my blog critique I chose a topic that is a big deal in todays society in the United States and also all around the world. My blog is going to be about the immigration of Hispanics to the U.S. and how it can be look at in different perspectives. The blog I am choosing to follow for this assignment is the "Illegal Immigration from Mexico" from the US Immigration Support. To start off this blog I want to give my audience background information from the blog and explain their data and information. The US Immigration Support talks about how immigration has been an issue for many decades now. Which is a very true statement. In the first few paragraphs they analyze the life of Hispanics in Mexico and hard it is to make a living to support their families and provide necessities. I'm not saying that its any different for someone who is a legal citizen in the United States. The point being made is simply there are less opportunities in Mexico for someone to earn money. It was clearly stated that over there on average, the wage is about $4.15 an hour. That's less than minimum wage here in the U.S. so imagine trying to support not only you but many others with that income. You probably wouldn't be very successful and would look for a way out of that life as well if you were in that position and lifestyle. The blog goes on to talk about how Latinos try to make their way across the border and into America. I want to look at a different perspective about Illegal Immigration, not saying that it is a good thing to support because obviously it is frowned upon in society and social norms. What I want to point out and what the US Immigration Support points out is the pursuit of a better life. Other websites, blogs, journals, etc. despise this topic and only talk about it in a negative way and I understand why. But put yourself in an immigrants shoes. Think of what all they go through on a daily bases just to get through another day in life. Many if not most all Hispanics that attempt to cross the border are looking for an opportunity for a fresh start in life and those in their lives. All they want is a good paying job or a descent house, and in some cases necessities such as running water. It sad to think that there are people without things like that. I know immigration is a sensitive topic and people only believe that Mexicans are trying to "take over" the United States, but in reality they want a better life. That's where a lot of analysis about immigration can be wrong. Its not they are trying to take over but start over because there is not future for them where they are. Once again I am not promoting illegal immigration but there needs to be other alternatives and solutions to the problem. More options need to be created to help legalize foreigners to create a new life and I think that the U.S. has that ability to do so. It could be beneficial for both countries I'm sure if the right solution is promoted.
